Grid Icons was founded by Dan Chubb, a lifelong motorsport enthusiast raised on the sound of rally cars tearing through forests, late-night Formula 1 broadcasts and the golden era of automotive culture.

From watching Colin McRae attack gravel stages flat-out to witnessing Michael Schumacher dominate Formula 1 in his prime, those moments shaped a lifelong obsession with the machines, liveries and drivers that defined an era.

That passion never faded. Alongside a growing collection of automotive artwork, Dan has built a huge personal diecast collection celebrating iconic rally cars, touring cars, endurance racers and Formula 1 legends, preserving the details and stories behind the cars that enthusiasts still talk about today.

What started as a creative outlet evolved into Grid Icons: a brand dedicated to capturing automotive culture through minimalist collector artwork inspired by the world’s most iconic cars.

Today, you’ll find Grid Icons trading at many of the UK’s biggest automotive events and shows, connecting with enthusiasts who share the same passion for motorsport, design and nostalgia. With more than 150 original designs created and over 1,000 customers served worldwide — from the UK to the United States and Australia. Grid Icons continues to build a global community of collectors and automotive enthusiasts.
